Are you in the mood for some beautiful and insightful artwork by one of the best artists in Greenville? Then you don’t want to miss Universe of the Mind: Inquiry & Inspiration by Nature by ECU sculpture professor Hanna Jubran. This event will be held at the West Wing Gallery. The show will be there until Nov. 19, so make sure to stop by before it’s too late.
What’s It About?
This is some insightful work, so get ready to put your thinking cap on before you go. Through his work, Jubran explores the intersections of art and science and how the two shape culture. He also studies humans’ reliance on the earth and theories about how life began. This is done by exploring basic natural shapes and how they appear in the physical world through the lens of the four elements: air, wind, fire, and water. You will have a lot to think about when you go to this show.
What to Expect
Jubran’s artwork is presented through more than 30 wall relief sculptures that explore various shapes. Therefore, this is definitely abstract work. However, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t mean anything. It just means that you’ll have to dig a little bit deeper for the message the artist is trying to convey. While all art-lovers are sure to find this show thought-provoking, it might not be the best show for little ones.
Why Go?
The Universe of the Mind exhibit is the perfect opportunity for you to enjoy some art and get closer to your community at the same time. Not only will you get to walk around, exploring all there is to see in the gallery, but you can also mingle with fellow art-lovers in your area. Sit down and discuss the works to see if you all arrive at the same conclusions. This is your chance to make some new friends and get better acquainted with the artistic community in the Greenville area.
If you have a passion for art or just want to get out of the house to enjoy some cultural enrichment, this is the show for you. You can even go out and get dinner before or after the show to make a whole night out of it. Doesn’t that sound like a great time?
