This summer, check out one of the best things to do in the greater Greenville, North Carolina area. The annual NC Sunflower Festival is back June 23th-25th, 2017. The festival is held at Raised in a Barn Farm, your local community farm, and gives you a chance to get an up-close and personal look at a real working farm and enjoy the beauty of the fully mature crop of sunflowers that the state is famous for. Live Music, Food, and Fun
Every day will feature live music on the stage in the pasture. There will also be other entertainment for everyone to enjoy, including the annual Miss Sunflower Festival Pageant with multiple age categories.
There will also be activities for all ages, including crafts, local artists, vendors, tractor and farm equipment displays and more. Live animal displays let you and your kid learn things that you may not have known about real farm animals and their importance in the world. Sunday morning is a special time during the festival. Come out and join your community for an ecumenical worship service featuring many of the areas church congregations giving praise and sharing the love in the wide-open beauty of creation. It’s a great way to experience a one of a kind feeling that you can only get when you are in touch with nature at its purest. Stay the rest of the day for social activities and more.
The Sunflowers are the Star of the Show
Come see the fully mature sunflower crop and enjoy their beauty in a real farm setting. Tours of the fields will give you a chance to enjoy them as nature intended. Sunflower trivia, Q&A, a chance to take as many pictures as you want and more will make the day even more fun. Sunflower items will also be available for sale at the vendor stalls to support your local community farm.
It all gets started on Friday, June 23th, 2017, at 12 noon and runs through Sunday the 25th at 4 pm.
