2016 Honda Odyssey: KBB Minivan Best Buy of 2016

2016 Honda Odyssey GreenvilleEven though it was up against serious competition, Honda’s minivan, the Odyssey, has once again taken the 2016 Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy award in the minivan category. Although Toyota’s Sienna and Kia’s Sedona gave the Odyssey a run for its money, the KBB team realized that Honda makes a really great minivan.

The Minivan Advantage

Minivans are popular because they are so flexible and spacious. The 2016 Honda Odyssey can seat up to eight people. Five of those seats can hold child car seats, if needed. The Odyssey’s third row will hold three adults more comfortably than any other minivan in its class. The cargo space behind the third seat is larger than that in any other comparable vehicle. It will hold up to eight suitcases, one for each seating position. For more cargo and fewer passengers, the third-row seat will fold down and the second-row seat comes out, making room for all your stuff.

For your traveling convenience, the Odyssey boasts several cup holders, USB and HDMI inputs, storage nooks, and comfortable seats. You will also find front and rear map lights, lighted vanity mirrors, and an air filtration system. Quite possibly the coolest feature of the Odyssey is the HondaVac, a built-in vacuum cleaner system that will help you keep your car as clean as a whistle. All of these creature comforts figured into the KBB’s decision to give the 2016 Odyssey the top award in its class.

2016 Honda Odysseys Powerful Engine

The 3.5-liter, V6 engine that gives best-in-class fuel mileage will have you humming confidently down the highway mile after mile. ABS braking, front-wheel drive, a 6-speed transmission, and a 21-gallon fuel tank are features you’ll appreciate.

2016 Honda Odysseys Safety Features

A full array of airbags, front and back, is standard equipment on the Honda Odyssey. The front seat has dual-stage airbags for both the driver and passenger positions. Each seating row has side curtain airbags. A backup camera, height-adjustable seat belts, side impact beams, and rear child safety locks are more of the Odyssey’s safety features.
