You keep staring at the calendar, counting down the days until summer. It’s still a long way away, which means you can expect some cold and rainy weather on a regular basis for the next few months. That doesn’t mean you have to be bored, though. The Greenville area is full of fun indoor activities to enjoy during cold and rainy days.
Marbles Kids Museum
Kids tend to get a little wound up on those cold and rainy days. If your kiddos are bouncing off the walls, take them to Marbles Kids Museum. This place is filled to the brim with hands-on exhibits that allow kids to play and learn at the same time. The Around the Town exhibit is a favorite. It’s full of costumes, props, and playsets, allowing kids to explore the community is an exciting and imaginative way. If your kids are under 3, they’ll love BB&T Toddlers Hollow. They can work on their balance while crossing a bridge, dress up as a creature from the forest, and more.
North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
Enjoy a day of family fun at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Avoid the cold while exploring a variety of exhibits. Check out some dinosaur fossils in the Prehistoric North Carolina exhibit, and then head to the Living Conservatory and Tropical Connections exhibits, where you’ll find live animals. Then, challenge the kids at the Mazes and Brain Games exhibit. With two wings and four floors packed with exhibits, you will spend hours at this museum.
Daniel Dhers Action Sports Complex
The Daniel Dhers Action Sports Complex is another great place to spend a cold or rainy day. You can rent a scooter, BMX bike, mountain bike, or skateboard and take off inside of the venue. With 17,500 square feet of space, you can get the adrenaline rush of a lifetime here. Oh, and here’s the best part. You can switch out the rental items without paying any extra money. Let’s say you start with a skateboard but you want to try a BMX bike. Just take the skateboard back to the rental counter and make the swap. With so many options, you can easily spend your entire day riding at this center. Just remember to rent some safety gear, too. You might take a spill or two during your time here, and you don’t want to leave all bruised up.
You know what else is fun to do on a cold or rainy day? Vehicle shopping. Seriously, the team at Barbour Hendrick Honda in Greenville, North Carolina, will get you in and out so quickly that you won’t have to spend much time out in the weather. When you do leave, it’ll be in a nice new vehicle that will take you all around North Carolina.
