You can do exactly that when you sign up for the Back to School Bash 5K / 1K Fun Run on Saturday, August 25. This race is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Greenville and raises money for some great causes – so your need for speed will do some good. Proceeds go toward Pitt County Scholarships, Pitt County Childhood Cancer Campaign, and the Ronald McDonald House.
Sign up today through August 23 for the 5K or the virtual run for $25, or for the 1K for $15. Prices go up after that date, so hurry and secure your spot.

- Colors 4 Cancer Choose to run a 10K, a 5K, or 1 mile at this race in New Bern on September 22. Proceeds benefit Journey of Hope Cancer Support Center, a nonprofit organization helping locals coping with the emotional, physical, and psychological effects of cancer.
