After a unanimous vote by the people at the prestigious Kelley Blue Book, the 2016 Honda Pilot was awarded the Midsize SUV Best Buy of 2016. A redesigned interior with new, classy appointments, ample cargo space, and a new, sleek exterior were some of the things that impressed the KBB judges.
2016 Honda Pilots Comfort and Style
With seating for eight in three rows of seats, you’ll have room for the whole family or your best friends. If cargo space is your priority, the second- and third-row seating folds flat to expand the cargo space to accommodate all your camping gear, move your son to college, or fit shopping spree purchases. Soft leather seats, high-end door panels, a hidden storage compartment behind the third-row seat, multiple USB ports, and a Blu-ray rear entertainment system make even long car rides easy. A one-touch release mechanism on the second-row seat makes access to the third row easy and convenient.
2016 Honda Pilots Safety Features
Not only does the 2016 Honda Pilot have a superior crash test rating, it also sports many features that help to prevent a crash before it happens. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the Pilot its Top Safety Pick Plus rating. The Honda Sensing suite of safety features is available on the EX and EX-L models and comes standard on the Touring Elite and Touring models.
In addition to the standard features of the multi-view rear camera and the Lane Watch, a right side view camera, the extra features include forward collision warning and braking, road departure prevention, an active cruise control, and lane departure warning.
2016 Honda Pilots Powerful Engine Options
Honda’s 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 280 horsepower coupled with the 6-speed automatic transmission will have you purring down the highway with confidence. A nine-speed automatic with paddle shifters is available on the Touring and Touring Elite models. Honda seems to have mastered what Chrysler hasn’t yet with this transmission.
The engine comes on every Pilot model from the base LX model on up to the Touring Elite. Honda’s Intelligent Traction Management system senses the road surface, making necessary adjustments to the all-wheel drive wheels. Front-wheel drive is also available.
