Molly’s Game – Jan. 5

Hollywood knows how to turn a true story into entertainment, so there are high hopes for “Molly’s Game.” This true story follows former Olympic-class skier Molly Bloom. Bloom ran an exclusive high-stakes poker game for around ten years. Her games were attended by Hollywood elite, sports stars, and members of the Russian mob. She was eventually brought down by the FBI and became a tabloid sensation.

Insidious: The Last Key – Jan. 5

Insidious is a popular horror franchise, and it’s expected to deliver the goods with “Insidious: The Last Key.” In this installment, parapsychologist Dr. Elise Rainier is investing a haunting that’s close to home. This just might be the scariest of all of the “Insidious” films.

The Post – Jan. 12

January must be the month for true stories. “The Post” is also based on a true story. This movie is about the New York Times’ and Washington Posts’ roles in exposing the Pentagon Papers. If you love history and the fight for the first amendment, this is the movie for you. It’s a heavy topic, but it will go down easier with some tasty popcorn.

Forever My Girl – Jan. 19

If you prefer a romance, “Forever My Girl” is right up your alley. Based on the novel by Heidi McLaughlin, this movie follows a country superstar who chooses fame over love. He leaves his bride-to-be at the altar but never gets over her. This one will pull at your heartstrings and help you remember what’s important in life.

Den of Thieves – Jan. 19

Are you more into crime movies? If so, “Den of Thieves” will deliver. A crew of bank robbers tries to pull off the ultimate heist. They want to rob the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Los Angeles. If they succeed, they’ll be $120 million richer. If they fail… Well, let’s just say it won’t be good. Get your tickets to this film to find out how it all plays out.
